President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived back in Abuja on Sunday night after an official visit to China and a stopover in the United Kingdom.
The President was received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by top government officials, including Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike and Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.
During his visit to China, President Tinubu attended the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and met with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, according to ThisDay.
The two nations upgraded their relationship to a “comprehensive strategic partnership” and signed several key agreements, including a $1 billion iron ore-to-steel project and the Lagos Green Rail Line.
President Tinubu also addressed global peace and multilateralism at FOCAC and met with Nigerian diaspora members in China.
In the UK, he discussed climate change with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace in London.
The President’s visit aimed to strengthen Nigeria’s relationships with China and the UK, and to promote cooperation on key global issues.
