President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in seven new ministers into his cabinet at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja.
This swearing-in follows the Senate’s confirmation of the nominees on October 31, after a thorough screening process.
The new ministers took their oaths of office in two batches—first in a group of four, then a group of three—following the reading of their citations by Mr. Abiodun Oladunjoye, the State House Director of Information.
The first group to take the oath included Idi Maiha as Minister of Livestock Development; Yusuf Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development; Dr. Suwaiba Ahmad as Minister of State for Education; and Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Following them, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, now Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment; Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; and Muhammadu Dingyadi, Minister of Labour and Employment, were sworn in.
The addition of these ministers comes after a significant cabinet reshuffle on October 23, in which President Tinubu reassigned 10 ministers to new roles, relieved five others from their duties, and nominated seven new ministers for Senate confirmation.
