… commends him for triumphing in a brutal democratic fight.

The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, declared that the nation’s democracy had achieved yet another significant success as Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his predecessor and leader, was declared the winner of the recently ended presidential election,

In a prompt response to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s early-morning Wednesday announcement of the results of the presidential election, Governor Sanwo-Olu stated that Tinubu had engaged in and won a fiercely contested democratic battle, emphasizing that the victory demonstrated the All Progressive Congress candidate’s commitment to advancing democracy in the nation.

The governor claimed that giving people the option to choose their leaders in a peaceful democratic process further demonstrated democracy’s exclusivity as a legitimate strategy for acquiring power, with the interests of the people at its core.

“Asiwaju has devoted the last 20 years to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy by erecting bridges all around the nation, his political credentials, which are the result of his many years of sincere investment in the national and human development, have been instrumental in garnering him the national renown and winning the hearts and minds of millions of Nigerians,” according to Sanwo-Olu.

He noted that the public is aware of Asiwaju’s long history of political activism and democratic struggle. H e stated that in exchange,  they have grown to accept him as a genuine democratic leader and a man with whom Nigeria can continue on its path to unity, economic progress, and prosperity.

“Asiwaju Tinubu will work hard to get the country back into the group of countries where economic prosperity, security, and political stability are hallmarks of development,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
