The National Publicity Secretary of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Ladipo Johnson, has stated that the first year of President Bola Tinubu on the saddle is not impressive.
The NNPP’s scribe scored the president low during an interview with BusinessDay.
He said that since Tinubu took over the mantle of leadership in the country, there has been series of activities but no effect has been felt.
He highlighted the weak points of the current administration to include downward trajectory of the naira and inflation.
When inquired about his take on Tinubu’s first year in office, he replied, “There has been activity, yet we do not get the feeling that the government is making much progress. The scorecard hasn’t been too good. You look at the downward trajectory of the naira, the raging inflation and cost of living, then you look at the handling of ECOWAS matters like the issue of Niger, and you realise that the government must turn things around before its midterm report is due.”
He opined that the government should take a look at its approve to solving the country’s problems with the view to getting desired results.
“The Federal Government must begin to realise that its approach to fixing the economy is not having the results that it is hoping for. The government must adopt a more holistic approach to issues,'” he added.
