The nation may incur annual costs of around N343.25m for the housing allowances for the recently appointed ministers.
According to The PUNCH, the Federal Government would spend N1.37 billion on housing for the 45 ministers-designate over the course of four years using that annual allocation.
The allowances are calculated using information compiled from a document downloaded from the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Allocation Commission’s website.
It includes housing allowances (200% of the basic salary), domestic staff allowances (75% of the basic salary), utility allowances (30% of the basic salary), and furnishings allowances (300% of the basic salary).
In contrast to other monthly allowances, the furniture allowance is often disbursed on a quadrennial basis.
The portfolios of the ministers were just disclosed by President Bola Tinubu.
The list did not include the names of Nasir El-Rufai, a former Governor of Kaduna state, Stella Okotete, a former National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress, and Danladi Abubakar, a ministerial nominee from Taraba State.
