A viral video has emerged online, showing the disappointing moment when a chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress, Maryam Shetty, arrived at the National Assembly for screening, unaware that President Bola Tinubu has replaced her name.
The video which was sighted online on Friday, August 4, 2023, shows the moment Shetty arrived at National Assembly and was turned back over the latest development.
Premium Politics reports that Shetty’s name was part of the ministerial nominees, whose names were in the second list of the ministerial batch, sent to the senate by President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday.
The President on Wednesday, forwarded the additional 19 names of ministerial nominees, to complement the previously sent names earlier sent on August 2, 2023.
Meanwhile, in a twist to the event, a letter was sent to the Senate on Friday, where the president withdrew Shetty’s nomination and replaced it with Maigari Mahmud, who is also from Kano State.
However, the video has sparked many reactions online, with many describing the development as embarrassing, saying that should have been informed about the new development before going to the senate for screening.
