A former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has narrated his experience with a congregation who refused to pray for their children to be like the presidential candidates they want to vote for in the forthcoming general elections.
The former president gave this narration in a video shared by gospel artist, Mike Abdul, on Saturday.
He said, “Recently, a Pastor was preaching…he was talking and he said to his congregation, ‘I know most of you must have made up our mind who you will vote for,’ and he said, ‘those of you who have made up your mind who you will vote for, put up your hands’.
“‘Then Al the congregation, including himself put up his hands’, and he said he wanted to make a prayer’.
“‘And as I pray continue to out up your hands… that your children may have the character, the attitude, the attribute, the reputation, the life of the one you have chosen to vote for’.
“Well, hands started coming down, and I said to myself, so, here are people who are ready to vote for people that you don’t want your children to be like.
“Now, what do you say of such people, wicked! To the extreme. As far as I am concerned, unpatriotic.”
