The Oba of Lagos, Rildwan Akiolu, has called on the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar and the Labour Party, Peter Obi, to join hands together and work with President Bola Tinubu to move Nigeria forward.
The Monarch made this call while speaking in London over the weekend, saying God was behind Tinubu’s emergence as president, urging that Atiku and Obi should unite to support him.
Eleko however urged the politicians to pay more attention to the welfare of the people.
“Many things are happening to our country. Politicians don’t fight, they will settle later. All of them should come together and move Nigeria forward. The unemployed, let’s find jobs for them. Indiscipline and greed are (sic) our problem. We’re too far away from God. Any contented man, God will reward them,” the king said.
He added “They should come together and move Nigeria forward. The (current) leadership is from God.
“The present President, I had told him that God deliberately put him there. But whoever is at the top should be prayerful, be truthful and do what is expected.”
