The lawmaker representing Ikeja Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adedamola Kasunmu, has called on Nigerians to exercise patience with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, assuring the public that the country’s future holds great promise.
Speaking at the third edition of a Ramadan lecture held in honour of the late Habibat Mogaji, Kasunmu highlighted the importance of unity, charity, and resilience in overcoming the country’s economic challenges.
“It may seem tough. It may seem bleak, but I know that the future is great, and the future has lots of benefits to come,” he said. “If only we can bear the sacrifices now, we will reap great rewards in the future.”
Kasunmu expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, praising the president as a compassionate leader dedicated to Nigeria’s progress. “I must acknowledge our president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our dear father, who has taken steps in the direction of the late matriarch [Habibat Mogaji]. He is one person I know who gives generously and has a large heart. I know that, if given the opportunity, he will lead Nigeria to its destined future,” he added.
Additionally, Kasunmu called for national unity, urging Nigerians to rise above ethnic and regional divisions. “As Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, or wherever you may be from, we must first see ourselves as Nigerians. It is our collective actions as a people that will define how the international community sees us,” he said.
