The Founder of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Dr Boniface Aniebonam, has said the party cannot win the election in Lagos State at the moment.
Aniebonam made this known while reacting to the chances of the NNPP in the forthcoming bye-election in Surulere I Federal Constituency during an interview.
“For now, the Lagos State election is serious. For me, I don’t think that we can win an election in Lagos State for now. Maybe in the future, we will try to see what we can do to win the election in Lagos State,’’ Aniebonam said.
It would be recalled that the constituency seat became vacant, following the appointment of the former lawmaker who represented it at the green chamber, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, as the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
However, the Independent National Electoral Commission has also said that 12 candidates of different political parties would be contesting in the February 3 bye-election in the constituency, excluding the NNPP.
