The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, on Friday night, hosted the group of five governors (G-5) clamoring for justice and fairness in the Peoples Democratic Party to a state banquet to mark the Rivers campaign flag-off.
Members of the group include: governors of Enugu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; Abia, Okezie Ikpeazu; Benue, Samuel Ortom and Oyo, Seyi Makinde.
They were in the state to lead the campaign flag-off of the state governorship campaign scheduled to hold on Saturday.
According to The Nation, no invitation was extended to the PDP national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu nor the Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar and other members of the PDP Working Committee to attend the Rivers campaign flag-off.
The banquet, which paraded the display of Rivers rich cultural performances also had cultural troupes from other states like Abia perform to entertain the guests.
Four of the governors were seen dressed in blue kaftan uniform with black hats to match for the banquet and one other in yellow, designed to precede the campaign inauguration.
The G-5 governors who had their friends at the recent governorship campaign inauguration in Benue State, also had some more at this event such as a former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, who entertained the crowd with their dance steps.
