The immediate former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has denied his alleged campaign poster to run for the office of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
Bello, who made this denial through a statement on Tuesday, denied authorizing anybody to circulate any posters on his behalf, adding that he is a loyal party man who is committed to the leadership of Abdullahi Ganduje as National Chairman.
The former governor however warned that claims of him running for the office of APC National Chairman should be disregarded.
Report had it on Monday, that posters of Bello running for the office of APC National Chairman flooded Abuja, the nation’s capital, shortly after his handling over to the new Kogi State governor, Ahmed Ododo.
The said posters are sighted with the inscription: “APC Next Level. Alhaji Yahaya Bello as APC National Chairman. Leading the Change, Building a Stronger APC.”
The purpose Bello’s posters were sighted around the Federal Secretariat and on walls and fences of structures around the APC National Secretariat on Blantyre Street, Wuse 2 in Abuja.
Reaction, the former governor said the insinuation of party chairmanship ambition through some posters in Abuja “is infantile, false and should be disregarded.”
Speaking further in his statement, Bello said APC “is not in the process of conducting congresses or a convention, therefore, there is absolutely no basis for anyone to circulate any posters for party offices.”
