Yobe State government has declared Wednesday, Feb 7, 2024, a work-free day, to mark three-day prayers for the late former Governor of the state, Sen Bukar Abba Ibrahim.
This was disclosed by the Director General, of Press and Media Affairs to Governor Mai Mala Buni, Mohammed while speaking to newsmen in Damaturu on Tuesday.
Mohammed noted that the day was set aside by Governor Buni, to offer prayers for the former governor who died in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
According to the governor’s side, the three-day prayers would be offered at the Government House Mosque, Damaturu.
He explained the burial rites for the late governor were officially taken over by the state government to honour the late governor.
However, Mohammed noted that Gov Buni, in the company of government officials and the family of the late governor, has been receiving condolences from sympathisers, within and outside the state at the Government House, Damaturu.
