A House of Representatives member-elect, representing Aguta Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the 10th assembly, Dominic Ifeanyichukwu Okafor, has said that the 10th National Assembly “is going to be a game changer.”
Okafor, who stated this during the ongoing 10th NASS Induction Programme at the International Conference Centre in Abuja on Thursday, said the politics will not be business as usual at the incoming assembly, because people are expecting so much from the lawmakers.
The member-elect, who is a first-timer at the assembly, said he is there to represent the, promising Nigerians to expect quality representation from the incoming assembly.
According to him, whoever wants to become a principal officer in the incoming assembly, will be well scrutinized, to see what he/she has to offer, to give Nigerians the decent representation they deserve.
“Let me be very honest with you; we [Reps] are all listening to the Speakership aspirants. We are listening to what they have to offer the House.
“I tell you, the 10th Assembly is going to be a game-changer. Nigerians are looking forward to us. Nigerians expect so much from us. So, I must tell you honestly that we are engaging with them [speakership aspirants], and at the right time we will be able to make the right decision,” he said.
Promising to offer a good representation to his people, he explained that, he explained that he join politics because of his passion to serve his people, noting that the induction programme has given him insights into how legislative business, is being handled.
