Some people suspected to be political thugs have allegedly disrupted the collation of results in the All Progressives Congress governorship primary election in Edo State.
It was gathered that the suspected thugs stormed the collation centre in Benin City, Edo State capital later in the day, on Saturday, after the voting exercise was held earlier, across the 18 local government areas of the state.
It was gathered that journalists at the venue, scampered for their lives, while the thugs threw away some cameras belonging to media personnel and chased out of the venue.
However, the collation was moved to another venue, to conclude the exercise and announce the results.
Meanwhile, results from eight LGAs were said to have been announced but the winner of the exercise was yet to be declared before the incident happened.
The APC organised the primary election, to choose a candidate who will represent the party in the forthcoming September 21, 2024 governorship election in the State.
