Protesters have stormed the Supreme Court, the venue of the final judgement on the appeals filed by Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, challenging the outcome of the 2023 Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, which affirmed the election of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.
The protesters, on Thursday, carried various placards with different inscriptions around the Supreme Court.
The court had fixed Thursday to deliver judgment on the appeals brought before it by Obi who was the Presidential candidate of the LP and Abubakar who was the flag bearer of the PDP in the February 25 election.
Obi and Atiku are challenging the outcome of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal which affirmed Tinubu’s election on September 6.
The tribunal had dismissed both petitions filed by the two presidential candidates for lack of merit.
Meanwhile, at the hearing on Monday, Atiku prayed to the court to admit fresh evidence of forgery against Tinubu.
The Supreme Court, however, reserved its verdict on both matters at the end of the Monday proceedings.
However, at the court on Thursday, some protesters were seen chanting solidarity songs and holding placards, banners and other protest materials.
