Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, and Chairman of the Election Committee in Edo state, has congratulated Hon. Dennis Idahosa, as the winner of the Saturday primary election in the state.
Uzodimma in a statement via his X handle on Saturday night, said he was delighted to announce Idahosa as the winner of the election.
According to him, the election held in Benin City was peacefully conducted.
He explained that the winner’s victory marked by the highest vote count, shows the trust and confidence, the APC members have in his leadership.
He however commended all the aspirants and their supporters, for demonstrating maturity and commitment to the party’s values, while also thanking the people of Edo, for their hospitality.
“I was delighted to announce Hon. Dennis Idahosa @IdahosaDennis as the winner of our peacefully conducted Governorship Primaries in Benin City. His resounding victory, marked by the highest vote count, reflects the trust and confidence our party members have in his leadership.
“I commend all aspirants and their supporters for upholding the peace accord, demonstrating maturity and commitment to our party’s values. Remember, the party belongs to us all, and this is not a defeat but a testament to our collective strength.
“To the hospitable people of Edo State, I assure you that our party brings democratic principles and a promise of quality governance. Hon. Dennis Idahosa is poised to champion our cause and uplift the state.
“When the time is right, we will return for campaigns.
