Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has arrived at the Arcade ground in Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital, the venue of his official declaration.
Premium Politics had reported on Monday that the meeting is expected to be attended by All Progressive Congress chieftains, lawmakers, local government chairmen, ward executives, and other party faithfuls.
According to a press release signed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Olusegun Ajiboye, the meeting is aimed at informing the APC stakeholders of the Governor’s intention to seek the party’s ticket for the forthcoming governorship election, as well as soliciting their support and cooperation.
The press release also invited members of the media to cover the event, which will be an opportunity for the Governor to highlight his achievements and plans for the state.
The Governor is expected to face a tough contest for the APC ticket, as some aspirants have already indicated interest to challenge him in the party’s primary election, scheduled for April 2024.
The governorship election in the sate is slated for November 2024.
